Happy Sunday ladies!
I don't know about you, but I have been so impacted by the message of "Beauty under Pressure" this month. I hope you have as well! It has been the message of the month it seems. Everywhere I turn it is as if God is re-emphasizing it and applying to many situations. So good!
You know, music is a powerful thing. Now I am not claiming to be a music pro by any means, however I so appreciate the power that the music and the lyrics hold. The strings can bring a soothing peace, while the pounding drums can produce expectancy and excitement. And then the lyrics... Somehow they can express so much with so few words. You put the two together and you find the music expressing the emotion behind the lyrics. It is powerful!
Today my fellow Pearl, I want to share some songs with you that resonates this message of beauty under pressure. Each one speaks to me and challenges me to see the masterful work God is doing, often times behind the scenes, and even without my knowing.
Don't you love that song?? Set that as your morning alarm and see if you get "up and at 'em"! But the message is so true... God is chiseling, polishing, and perfecting you to become a beautiful and VALUABLE diamond. Did you catch that? YOU ARE VALUABLE. YOU ARE PRECIOUS.
Friend, you are all that He says you are. While there are voices that speak over us all, even our own voice, lies and judgments and harm... Listen to your Father's voice.
So my favorite part of this song is this line here:
"I remind myself of all that You've done, and the life I have because of Your Son..."
Why? Because it is real life!
Listen, we often get so focused on where we are going, and where we want to go, we forget where we have been. We forget where we used to be. We get impatient and anxious for what is ahead, forgetting how perfect God's timing has been in our life. We get worried and fearful, forgetting how Jesus calls the storms. We get down on ourself and frustrated with all the ugly we see in our life, forgetting all the beauty God has brought into our life. Meditate on the goodness of God and REMIND yourself if Hs has done it once, He can most certainly do it again.
This last song has such a special place in my heart. You know those songs that have so many memories attached to them? Memories of when God spoke and moved so deeply and undeniably? This is one of those songs for me. It really is a very simple song with rather simple and repetitive lyrics, yet they are lyrics that I know I often need to remind myself of. No matter how messy, ugly, imperfect I may be, that is NEVER a hindrance for God. He makes BEAUTIFUL things out us.
