Being a mom isn’t always pretty.
It’s poopy couches. It’s messy hair. It’s no sleep and runny eyeliner. It’s exhaustion beyond anything you’ve ever felt before. But, it’s also love. The deepest love you never thought was possible to posses for another human being.

Being a mom is cleaning up explosive diapers that get all over you, the child that exploded, the couch and it’s followed by your child peeing on the floor.

It’s also that mischievous smile in the sink after your child has let out more poop than any human being should ever be allowed to. (Seriously though, how does so much poop come out of such a tiny little being?)

Being a mom is shedding a few tears, wanting to throw the towel in but realizing you can’t quit, not now, not ever because at the end of the day, they need you and you need them too. They are yours, and you are theirs. And when it’s all said and done, after all the mess is cleaned up, the tears are wiped away, those same tiny human beings, will climb onto your lap to give you every ounce of love they have. And it’s in those moments that you realize, that even if tomorrow brings the same feat, you will do it all over again and again and again.

Because a mother’s love, my friend, never ends.

  2. Beautiful reality. Unconditional love at its best. Well said Summer. I remember when you were pregnant with Ryder and were scared to be a Mommy and look you are the best. Two in diapers whew, good example for other young mothers.
